Nature's Design was founded in 1984 by landscape/gardener Keith Stover. We design, install, and maintain gardens throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Combining seasonal color, perennials, wood, stone, and more, we customize our plant and hardscape experience to create a landscape garden design to last a lifetime of year-round enjoyment and inspiration.

Nature's Design was formally started in 1984 by Keith A. Stover an avid gardener and landscape designer since early childhood. Mostly self taught he attended both Orange County Community College in Southern California and San Francisco City College where he completed many classes in landscape construction, design, and plant identification. Though originally set on getting a Landscape Architecture degree, he found himself knowledgeable enough about most aspects of landscaping to start his own business soon after attending San Francisco State University. Since that time he and various crew members have installed numerous gardens throughout the Bay Area. With a talent for integrating over all spaces, be them small or large his large demonstration garden exemplifies his ability to create unique vignettes within a large garden space.
Nature's Design primarily focuses on residential design, installation, and maintenance. Most of our projects range from $15,000 to $75,000+. We only take on projects that we both design and install and don't do one or just the other. We like doing projects that are out of the ordinary and have a high level of both aesthetic appeal and functionality. Attention to detail is of utmost importance to us and we strive to install gardens that will stand the test of time.
Though we might not be the largest landscaping company with super quick turn around times, we like to think we are one of the best. Our past projects are a representation of this commitment to this ideal.
